Transfer case

I was just wondering if anybody has taken a transfercase apart for a 98. I am sure that a gear or shaft is broken because I can hear it clanking around inside the case. Also the other day it snowed and when my truck tried to go into AWD it just made a sound like the gears where stripping and i almost got stuck because it would move. Had to ease in and out of the gas to get up hill.Don't have money for a new or used one was just hoping to replace a part of it. It only does it on hard accelerations and when it kicks in the AWD. Any info or pics would be great.

It's not the propeller shaft either. Or U-joints it's in the transfercase
