Boring the cylinders

I just want to install some OS 0.5mm OEM pistons (bore: 75.5mm) on my 01 civic. I already have the civic repair manual where they say the clearance between piston and cylinder wall... To install those bigger pistons I need a larger bore, how I can bore the cylinder for those pistons? I need micrometers to meassure and some other tools?

And do you think is well install those 75.5mm pistons, or is better the 75.25mm?

P.S.
When the part number says the piston come in a "set", it means a set of 4 pistons or a set of piston and the wrist pin? What price you think are those piston for a 01+ civic (repeat are OEM OS 0.5mm pistons)?

Well, here are my 2 cents... Unless you have a full shop equipment, take the block to a shop. It take a bit more than a drill and honing stones to boar cylinders.

Size of the pistons depends on your purpose. Are you planning to replace the stock pistons? Then go with .5 mm. But I assume you want more power, right? Then go with 25 over. This will give you a noticeble displacement increase, and hence, a noticeble power increase. I would say a set of 25 over pistons, pins and rings should run you $350 and up. This number is refering to all 4 pistons. That is on the cheap side, but you can be your own judge. Don't skimp on the engine part though. Get a set from a reputable manufacturer, and it might run higher than that.

But once again, take it to a shop.

The 0.5mm over is equivalent to 0.020 inch. I think with "25 over" you refer to 0.025 inch over.

No matter, 0.5mm over (.020 inch) will increase the engine displacement from 1668cc to 1690cc. With 0.025 inch over will increase the displacement from 1668cc to 1697cc. Comparing 1690cc to 1697cc, there's not much difference at all (1.75cc more per cylinder). I think with .025 over will remove more material from the cylinder sleeve and not will give so bigger displacement.

no, i don't think you're going to see anything at all....you'd have to dyno it to tell because you aren't going to notice that little bit. There are a lot better things you could do to make it faster.

you will see a few hp increase because it will bump up your cr by about .1 or .2 which is barely anything
