Flaws in a remote start?

Ok, i was thinking about getting a remote starter for my 97' Ranger. I have heard that they are bad for your car in the long run. So i was just wondering if this was true or not. So what are the long term effects of a remote starter? thanks a lot.

Hello Craig1806, I have been installing remote starters now for 15 years and can honestly say that there are no long term effects. All the remote starter is doing, (when installed properly) is electronically making the connection of your ignition wire using relays for a predetermined time, instead of you physically turning the ignition switch your self. :)
