Just replaced the water pump on my 98 GTP and now the engine is smoking. What did I do wrong?

When you say smoking what do you mean? Is it overheating and you are seeing steam or is there actual smoke coming from the engine?

To give you my best guess I would have to believe you have air in the cooling system and that is what is causing the problem. Remove the radiator cap and start the car. Once the thermostat opens you should see a drop in coolant level. This will be the coolant filling in where the air was. Refill as necessary.

If the smoke is coming from somewhere else please post again and we will try to assist.

This is smoke from the back side. Smells like somethings burning But temp guage isn't going up was afraid I might screw up the engine. Also thought I might just be burning something off the the front started to smoke a little. I will try to take the radiator cap off and see if this fixes the problem \. I believe that you have hit it right on the head, Thanks GTP DAD
