Anyone use Boyd Chezoom Teal?

So anyone use this color? I just got it today to use on my '95 ZR-1, and i was just wondering if it was a pearl color that would work better with a base color or if I could just shoot it straight over the primer.

I've used it before and I think your base coat will surely make a difference in the final look. I sprayed over black and it came out a darker blue/teal. Much darker than the color shows on the color chart on the front of the Boyd's paint stand.

So depending on your primer color it may appear more green/ light teal or more blue/dark teal.

Either way it's a nice looking color.

Nice color, but like all Testors enamel pearls/metallics the pigment tends to be a bit thin, so you may end up spraying a lot more paint than you expect if the base color isn't the same as the final pearl color. If it's a spray can good luck, I hate Testors spray cans. Airbrushing is preferable, you can mix some blue and green solid enamel colors to a similar base color and spray a few coats of that over the primer (white or light gray primer), then you won't need nearly as much as the Boyd's Chezoom Teal to cover. If the bottle has settled and there's a bunch of clear at the top, you can pour off some of the clear before mixing the paint and that will also help the paint to cover a lot better.

I built the Chezoom a while back and used Olive Drab as a base coat for the Chezoom Teal. This hid any tendency where the paint wanted to pull away from sharp corners. The final results were a perfect match for the Chezoom. . .

I've had pretty good luck with the Boyds line of paints and was always left with a very smooth and glossy finish even when sprayed directly from the can!

Here's a Merc I painted straight from the can with Boyds paint and didn't even have to wax it!!! It was as smooth as glass!
