I know the Revell F430 isn't the most wanted kit at the moment, but is it actually out yet?

It's been slated for November '05 release for as long as I've known about it; perhaps you were thinking of the US release of the kit? I've heard Revell AG is going a Spider as well.

The Revell Modena was absolutely nothing to write home about, having a very poorly executed body mold that required a ton of cleanup, and a general "cheap" feeling to it that Revell USA kits certainly don't have. The Tamiya Modenas were well worth the extra expense. I suspect this F430 may be a variation on Revell's Modena. I'm banking that Fujimi's F430 will satisfy my need for the car and maybe I'll get the Revell kit in a year or so when they're common as dirt at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price.

Hmm..

Oh well. And yep, 73 parts is what you call a "low" parts kit.. Still at least its all plastic.. :evillol:

Sorry couldn't help myself..!!

Low parts are for easier assembly LOL

I will wait the Fujimi one and do a mix with a Tamiya 360. Will be expensive, but much better than Revell.

I'll buy both just to have an opinion based on my own experience. :-)

Is the body molded in white? Looks like clear plastic on the boxart, or maybe its just the pic.

What, you don't have one yet Bob:wink: hehe Can't wait to see the dozens you and ACME will be making.

Hell no! I don't want one. I'm awaiting the Fujimi "optional parts version" and even that won't get me overly inspired. '06 is shaping up to be the year you see me and other ACME guys building a slew of Porsches. Glad I got an '06 Mustang knocked out before I started on my stack 'o Zuffenhausen classics. It's gonna be the wurst year ever for (a lack of) Ferraris from ACME :evillol:

Hello everyone. New to this forum but definitely not new to car modelling and always room for improvements.

Anyway, HLJ has already post the finished Revell kit on its website:-

I'm sure Alex will make a decent 430 out of the Revell kit and wow us all when he starts to build one.

TBH, if you want the car or love the car you'd be eager to buy one, regardless of small number of parts and it won't cost £30+ neither.

As always with Revell, not the best but keen prices means most of the time you buy it as it's affordable...

Wait and see I guess, if I can pick one up of ebay for a tenner I'd perhaps buy one to just fatten my ferrari collection out.

Got the Revell F430 last Friday from Antics, Cardiff. Not too impressed. I too am going to get the Fujimi Options version when its released. Body colour is red by the way, same as always.

I picked up the fujimi 550 and 575 as they are ferrari's and I'm collecting them, built or not I do like ferrari models.

Wasn't overly impressed with them either, but I'm saving them till I get "better" at model building, then hopefully I can fix the problems. I'll pick up the Revell and Fujimi versions of the F430, just as I've brought the Revell 2003 GA F1. It's cheap so might as well.. I'll keep my eyes on ebay for some cheaper deals..

I like VRIC's idea of kit bashing a 360 with a 430 body... Thinking like a true model builder.

.....just like the 550/575s are crying out to be mated with a 612 engine.

incidentally, the 612 only had 70-80 parts.
wasn't too bad.

I already have one :D

It doesn't look bad, compareble with the 612, altough the body of the F430 has some nasty mold lines. Kit comes with nylon mesh and al vents are molded open. I think its quite a good kit for 18€ and since you have to pay up to 50€ for a fujimi over here(Belgium) its a pretty good deal.

Your 2003 GA is a fine example of making a cheap revell kit a decent model. It can be done, as I've said Revell kits sort out the men from the boys. Cheap kits that need a litte more TLC to make decent. I've got two 2003 GA with upgraded decals and SMS P/E set so should make a decent model, and it actually cost me around the same for two revell kits, plus upgrades then what a Tamiya FW24 costs..

OK, its not apples for apples when you compare the two, but it'll keep me busy building the 2003 GA, but I digress. The thread is about the F430.

And I've since learnt the kit is released, it was released 18th November, explains why the ebay shops, sellers etc have them.

Does anybody have a blueprint of this car? Maybe yo can post the four sides. I found a blueprint on the net but it was handdrawn by some one so its not very accurate.
