i have a 94 gmc sonoma, and im installing a remote starter, but i have no idea where im supposed to connect the "tranmission wire" from the AstroStart 3106. the wire from the brain box is white with green stripe.
if anyone can help me locate the transmission wire/sensor to connect to to on a 5 spd manual, that would be great.
thanks.

whats the reason of putting remote start on a manual transmission? Its too unsafe man. what happens if the truck slips out of gear? or leave it in gear?

well its not as safe as an automatic transmission but if he sets the parking brake and keeps the truck in neutral out of habit then there shouldnt be too much of a problem. either way i would really like to see the directions and a wirin diagram before i give a definite answer but im going to GUESS that its supposed to hook up to the neutral saftey switch on an automatic and on a manual there isnt really anywhere to hook it up like that.

Ok, dude, you know you're not supposed to use remote start on manual tranny vehicles, right? That being said, you gotta get over the "depress the clutch all the way to the floor before the starter will turn" thingy, sometimes called the neutral safety switch or the clutch safety switch. You also run the risk of doing great harm if the tranny is in gear when someone presses the start button. Harumph....I imagine this transmission wire is the neutral safety switch connection, recieving electrical power if the autotranny is in park or neutral. Just hook it to hot (maybe a 3A fuse inline) in this ill-advised application.

all remote starters are ill advised, worked at a shop less then a year and almost lost my hand to one of the fuckers because some prick (not saying anyone here would be that retarted) didnt think the safty sticker was a necisary thing and the moter started with my hand inches from the clutch fan... and i have seen them fuck up more wiring harnesses then anything, you have to tap into an injector for pulse, and after a while corrosion sets in, we remove as many remote starts as local places install, they are nothing but trouble, and i removed mine the second i found out all the cons they didnt tell me
