So to tell you guys all of this, but Saturday I traded off my 2000 Blazer for a 2005 Ford Explorer, I know that having a Ford goes against everything I beleive, but with all the trouble and constant maintainence I have gone through in the past year with 2 different blazers, I figured i might as well try a different route, I still stay on the boards and input some advise when available, thanks for all your guys help with my two blazers!

Good luck with your new purchase. Hope you enjoy it.

I see not need to bash your choice as I have had Fords in a past life, and my wife drives a Chrysler Mini-van (it's huge) which I like very much for family trips.
But, be that as it may, I'm still a GM person (36 years and counting), and even though my '97 gives me fits, I'll stick with it and the General
until I ...............

That's a good one (I might have heard that B4, but Alzhiemers set in)

I think I'll call my truck the Blazooka, it blows my rear (wallet area)regularly.
(I have a previous post where I called it Blavette)

That one came about a few years ago when they had all the problems with tires. The names Ford Exploder and Fireprone (Firestone) were born.

Naw, Exploder came about when they started milling the heads paper thin on them to save costs on production. They run great, but metal fatigue eventually makes it blow it's top - literally, straight out of the hood. Later revisions have it fixed though. You're good with a modern Explod...er...Explorer. Keep the tranny serviced with fresh fluid and a new gasket and filter every 2-3 years and she'll track for a long while yet. Good luck!

[QUOTE=I got to tell you....I had a 98 blazer and it gave me nothing but a hard time. Everything from injectors to you name it. I got tired of it and got rid of it. It was a shame because it was in pristine condition. I mean this thing looked like a pulled it out of the showroom 10 minutes ago.But going through all this crap made me leary of driving it.Sooooo I traded it in for a 2005 trailblazer no more problems........
