?'s on cloning a 65 Shelby Stang???

I've got a friend willing to trade me his 65 Mustang coup for my 95 Bronco even up and I'm wondering how hard it would be to clone a Shelby as close as possible.

The car was an original 6 cyl car but in 2000 a rebuilt 289 was installed with a 2 spd auto. Recently the floor pans were replaced and a EB 600 four barrel was installed. There has been a ton of money put into this car over the past few years and is turn key runs perfect.

Question is, how hard is it to get the Shelby parts to make a clone? Being an owner of Shelby's first and last FWD Dodge I've always wanted a Shelby Mustang. I know the parts are rare and very hard to find when it comes to the 500 GLHS's or 500 CSX's made but what about the Mustangs? Are there aftermarket companies making parts for them? What parts do you need to do a good clone?

Thanks in advance for any help...

New member to the forum, saw your post. No one responded to you since you put it up in 2005?
The 65 Shelby Mustang had very few cosmetic changes over the stock fastback. The Shelby mods were suspension, seat belts, some emblems, stripes, and remove the back seat. You can find all those parts today to do your own version. Although if I was going to do a project like that I would lean towards updating things like a 5 speed. It can look like a Shelby but it is NOT so why be concerned about keeping it like the original when you can make it much more fun to drive? By the way I own a 68 GT350 which I have keep pretty much "stock" well more or less.

I reread your post. I see that the Mustang is a coupe not a Fastback. Shelby did not offer any Shelby Mustang coupes EXCEPT for Trans Am Cars. That is what I would do with a Coupe but I would upgrade it to newer parts like the 5 speed and maybe rack and pinion steering.
