if you can do it, what all would i need to do a Cosworth conversion on escort, and how much money do you guys think i would be looking at spending?

More then it's worth. There is no "if" you can do it. There's a 4x4 89 looking pontiac firebird on ebay as I type this, I'm talking a mudding firebird. With enough money and know how you can do anything, just a matter of is it really worth it?
