discussed this already,but one more question = 1995 acheiva v/6 heater core replacement job. is it complicated or mostly time consuming. should i trust my shady tree mechanic? he,s apt to break things on complicated jobs.

Not real complicated,but a little involved if you haven't done it before. It is a bit tight getting to the hose clamps underneath the car. It helps to have the Factory Service Manual for the most detailed breakdown on dissassembly of the console and underdash to get to the heater core. Very easy to break stuff if you don't know how to do it.
