hello new guy here, just got a 99 trooper with 72k. The problem is when I try to start it when the engine is warm it will stall, but will always start on the second try. It seems to only happen if i let it sit about 45 min to 2hrs, and try to restart it. I was going to try and clean the egr and iac but dont think thats the problem, maybe the fpr?

That's a tough one, could be any of those: IMG, EGR, IAC, FPR. Do you get a check engine light?

try this.
Turn key to the ON position. Count to 10, then try to start it.
To me it sounds like a leaky fuel pressure regulator.
My Truck takes a long time to start (cranks an excessive length of time).

I dont have any codes or lights, it will start up the the rpms will just drop all the way down and die, then the second try it will start up just fine. I was thinking the same thing that the fpr was flooding the engine and the first start would burn of the extra gas.
