A test light will not get the job done.
You need a good volt/amp meter to check it out.
You need to measure the amps draw on the system.
Post back amps draw.
Also check charging system.

I hate to disagree, but a test light will work fine. When the truck is turned off the positive post of the battery is completly isolated from ground. If there is a ground anywhere in the system, then current will flow and run the battery down. If you disconnect the positive battery terminal, and place a test light between the terminal and the battery post, with the key off, the light should not light. If it does you have a short to ground somewhere, and the battery is being discharged. You said you pulled the fuses one by one, you may have 2 shorts or more. If you pulled the fuse for short number one, replaced it, then pulled the fuse for short number 2 the light would never go out. Rig your test light, then pull all the fuses and see if the light goes out, if it doesn't, I would go straight to the starter. and take the wire off of it. Wiggle every wire you can get your hands on and watch for the light to flicker when you zero in on the short. Loosen the fuse block and move it around (might be a short behind it). There is no science to it, electrical troubleshooting is 90% patience, 10% luck.

Good luck.

A test light will work on older systems but on newer cars with PCM and other electronics that have to be engergized with the key off a test light will give you a false reading. You have to test it with the battery connected and a amp meter on it.
When you try using a test light the pcm stuff will try to energize and light the test light wheater you have a amp draw or not. :grinno:

you can use a test light but you have to connect the battery for 30secs to a min to let the computer memories charge up THEN with the test light on the post or w/e disconnect the battery and you should be able to go from there. you gotta have the test light setup so when you disconnect the battery its already hooked up. if you do it wrong the memories will need to be charged up again, catch my drift? anyway if the draw is big enough that method will work if not youll have to use a dvom on amps and MAKE SURE you do it the way i described with the test light otherwise youll have a lot of battery amperage flowing through your meter which can probably only support 10amps, not pretty. 20mA is about maximum amperage draw so anything over that is too much. do the fuse thing again and see what happens.
