pedals

i want to move my brake and clutch pedals back more so they line up with the gas pedal. i like being able to put my heel on the floor when pressing a pedal because it gives more control. like putting your pinky down when playing guitar, it aligns everything and establishes a supporting base structure for smoother motion.
is it possible to do this?
is it possible to do this?

It would be possible if you had and were confident in outstanding welding skills. I assume you mean you want to cut off the pedal, move it down and remount it closer to the floor right? If so, you would need to cut the metal, since the pedal is all one piece. You would then have to reweld it into place.
A big risk if you ask me. No matter how much control your heel gives, its gonna be a bitch when the brake pedal breaks off. Not saying it can not be done though.

Yould could put a piece of wood under your floor mat so you foot comes up closer to the pedal rather than moving the pedal down to the floor.

that's actually a good idea, i didn't think of that..
but i would also like all my pedals lined up close to eachother. i saw this move once where you toe the break while blipping the gas with your heel to match RPM for downshifting around a turn. for the longest time i thought it must have been a damn joke, but the other day i was coming to the highway onramp preparing for a good turn and saw how when the engine has to rev up to get into the lower gear it's like breaking too late in the turn. it puts the cars' inertia and balance at less desirable places. i went back to that turn and tried it a few more times, and the timing is just freaking hard to get into the lower gear for acceleration between the time i hit the brake and gas (without slowing down further and throwing the weight around from the downshift).
the only way i could get it smoother and better timed was (clutch depressed) stomping on the gas right before breaking... and i'm not sure that's the best way to do it... it sounds kind of bad musically... i don't know how to explain it. and anyway it still didn't reduce the time needed to prepare for the turn much, just displaced it a little sooner.
i was hoping there would be a fix like.. taking off the break lever that comes down and setting it to a lower angle position at the fulcrum or something. any real fabricating is well beyond my reach though...
