stuck in first

hey i got a problem with my 97 chrysler..concorde.. with 120,000 miles
sometimes when i drive it shifts into first gear and wont shift out anymore after that till iturn off the car and restart it.. the solinoid pack was changed about two months ago could that be the problem?

What you are experiencing is your transmission dropping into "limp mode". When the computer detects a problem with the function of the transmission, it will lock the transmission into "second" gear. Turning off and restarting the car clears limp mode until another problem is detected. Take your car to a transmission shop and have the error code read for the transmission.
