lost my keys

Hey guys my friend owns a 96 toyota celica with an alarm on it. She locked her keys in her car before she went on vacation for about 2 weeks and im trying to help her get in. Her alarm is really sensitive and her mom said that her alarm kept going off. I have her other remote to her alarm that would unlock the doors to but with her alarm going off so much it completly drained her battery so the remote wont work. I have a slim jim and ive gotten good with it on my truck but i cant get it to work on her car. Does any one know were i can get a diagram of the inside of her door to possibly give me a better chance of getting in or does anyone know another way to get in. Or a way to pop the hood so i could replace the battery. if anyone has any suggestions it would save me from having to pay for a locksmith.

try to access the hood latch from under the front of the car and pop the hood. you may have to remove some plastic skirting if it is at all like the '91 models. it may take a bit to determine how the latch works, just look for the release cable and follow it to the lever it operates. once you have the hood open jump the car with jumpercables and use the spare key fob to unlock the doors.

You could also call a locksmith (or AAA if you have a membership) to come open the door. You could also keep working on the slim jim idea. Have someone on the other side watch the lock. When it jiggles you're close. Try working on the lock closer to the lock button inside; closer to the front. A mistake easily made on foreign cars is to focus on a phantom lock mechanism near the rear of the door. They're all up front in between the button and the door handle.

Toyotas have a sleeve that coversthe linkage rods to make jimmying a lock more difficult, but not impossible. Get a wedge, and a panel light to look inside the door for the linkage. If you don't know where to find a panel light, I can recomend a place.

I used to do this a good bit, but I'm having trouble finding dealerships who will still do it, even with the proper ID and registration papers. One told me that Toyota dropped that practice entirely for security reasons but a couple of the old-school dealers didn't get the memo... or didn't read it.
