92 r/t takin on modified 89 240

ok my buds got a 89 240 auto with an air intake and cat back exhaust. i get my dodge stealth dec 1st and he wants to race. now i'm bone stock and five speed and ridden in his car, its got pep, but so does mine. so what are you guys oppinions?

oh yeah does any body know were i can get a performance intake or a vr4 intake maanifold?

An air intake and cat-back is hardly "modified" its not OEM but it aint tunned either.
The 240sx is an overrated pile of trash in stock trim. you need a turbo kit for the KA20 or a SR20DET to make it a worthwhile car and even with a SR20 its still a 220hp car running low 15s.

You'll smoke him easy, I've killed so many 240s that they just bore me now. worry about racing a Probe GT or a Mazda 6 but a 240 is way bellow us on the food chain. if you think his car has "pep" then you'll feel like your getting shot out of a cannon when you drive the 3000GT. I feel more torque from my dad's Dodge caravan then I do from a 150hp 240. oh and its an auto? yeah he's running 17 second quartermiles. my wife's 98 Eclipse GS smokes that! :rofl:

I'd rather have a 240sx than a probe though... wayyyy more potential... but I agree with musashi man, you'll kick his ass

well let me ask you this.
a red 98 honda prelude, j-spec motor, full exhaust ( headder and all) aem v2 cold air intake, short throw shifter, my nimisse. couldent hang with him with my talon. of course all i had was the n/a j-spec 4g63 and just a cat back, but what you guys think about that race could take him?

I try to learn as little about hondas as possible simply cause I cant stand the Honda Hype! I think a Prelude with all that should be able to out run a stock 3KGT.
