Level sensor bad if it is filled properly. Did you bleed the system last time you filled it?

light came on and i added coolant.
Let the car run with cap off and hit gas to fluid would flow through radiator and topped off the radiator and put cap back on.
anyo other options on doing this?

Had the same problem on my 92 and 93 lumina, all I did was disconected the the sensor on the side of the rad.Only do this if you are sure the system is full and not air locked. There is a certain way to fill the rads on these cars,it should tell you either in your manaul or on the fan cover. If you do disconect your sensor just get in the habbit of checking your coolant level more, before you take this step may I suggest you find out why you had to add coolant in the first place, unless it's been years since you checked the coolant you should not have to add.Sounds like you may also have a leak somewhere.

i ahvent spotted a leak yet
unless its when the car is running and burns before it hits the ground.

You HAVE to bleed the air every time you add coolant through the radiator cap.

If you have an air pocket roving around in there, it can do all kinds of weird things.

You may not be fully filled. Get it good and warmed up, then carefully open the bleeder(s). Open the radiator cap and add coolant until it comes out of the bleeder. Then close it up and fill the resevoir.
