Weight capacity

Have had Tucson Limited for about a month now, and like it ....except for 3 items.
-On the Hyundai website comparing models it shows over 1200 lbs capacity for the Tucson. On my door sticker (driver door) is says 860 max capacity. That's not even enough for 4 old golfers and their bags <:-( Does anyone have more info on this?? I am probably sensitive to this since I also RV, and overloading can cause problems and/or invalidation of warranty.
-Gas milage....sure hope it improves. Only getting 16-17 around town. My 2002 Sonata with same V6 engine gets 20-21 on same roads with same drivers.
-Luggage rack. When buying, was told the cross bars came off easily....and now have found out it takes disassembly with 24 screws to get them off/on. Not good if you want to take them for wind noise or to add bike/kiyak carrier.
