Trunk Lock does not work from button in glove compartment

Good day!

I see a lot of helpful people out there and am hoping someone can assist with my problems.

I have a 91 buick regal 3.8L sedan. For some reason the trunk release button in the glove compartment does not work anymore.

I am somewhat handy but I don't know how to troubleshoot electrical stuff very well.

Any ideas on what I should do first?

Both doorlocks and trunk lock are controlled by the same module, which is under package shelf beside speaker back window. If you check other posts on module repair you will find how to "possibly repair/resolder".
I followed instructions posted on resoldering circuit board and got locks working , but not trunk. I'm quite content with that. I will say that even with that I had a short in the module, and after moving circuit board around I fixed by inserting cardboard under it lolo.
Yes this is a great forum, and has saved me a bundle.

On another note, seeing that you also have a 91 3.8L, can you tell me what you average for miles/km to the tank?

I seem to be filling quite often and it's really burning a hole in my wallet. Between highway and city driving i get about 375km/ tank (55L tank). I wonder if there is anything I could be doing (i.e replacing) in order to get my fuel efficiency back up...

I'm averging 30 mpg hiway which is spec with 200,000 Km on clock. (ur mileage ?)You're using overdrive I assume. Judging by posts I've read the ecm is one culprit.( I had ford taurus and it was) Obvious but maybe not are,air filter/pcv or other/ oxygen sensor.Tried synthetic oil ? Do code scan see what you get. (it's under dash, and the procedure is in posts somewhere). Any check engine lights ? Haynes/Chilton manual are ALWAYS a big help.

forgot to mention....Actuator that operates trunklock may be the problem. it's just that most ppl have peobs with module i mentioned it first

Thanks!! Hey Mr. regal owner- a quick thing you can try is to pull out the switch from the glove box and attach a jumper wire from one wire to the other here. This bypasses the switch(button). I have a 94 and it works without the key in the ignition-not that i like it like this. good luck
