I'm replacing the heater core in my 95 1500. How long of a job is this?

It is a really simple job actually. Unplug your battery, drain your coolant, pull the hoses off the heater core under the hood. In the cab on passenger side drop the cover, and I cannot recall what size the bolts are. Their is one bolt in the back that is kind of tough. Once you get it off there is the core. pull the old core out and put the new in with new retaining clip, I think you also get a new bolt. Be careful when putting the hoses back on. You do not want to bend the necks of the core, they will leak. Make sure the coolant is all drained out of the block as well as radiator and fill it back up, it is recomended that you flush the system. This was suprisingly easy to do. I have a 95 chevy as well, and just changed the core about a month ago. it took tops an hour, and that was with draining and filling it back up.

What fan are you talking about? If you are talking about your blower motor I am not sure. I think you can get to it without taking you dash down, but I wouldn't swear by it.
