I have a flashing hold light, the dealer said it would cost $750 to fix it as it was determined to be the silinoid. The Mx said not to drive on the freeway until it was fixed. Can the silinoid be by passed or can the hold feature be deactivated permanently. I never us it anyhow

Would appreciate any info specific to this problem

This question came several times in various KIA forums and more questions came out, but not a definite solution. Is the CEL on?
I'd appreciate you inform this forum once this is positively solved. Anyway, check this:http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=416844
may be the last post --although pointing to a seemingly unrelated cause--, could be verified . Also Fuel filler cap not properly seated has been related to several weird symptoms...may be coincidental, but ....not a great expense to check out.
