Jetta Car Memory

I was reading the Bentley Book on my Jetta (93-98 year models I think, not sure and I'm not getting up to look, lol).

Turns out that, according to the manual, that the Jetta has some kind of memory that "carefully" logs the way you drive (manual transmission) and remembers that, so that in some way it uses the way you drive to save gas mileage.

Evidentally, this can be re-set using the clock buttons or something, but the book doesn't go into real detail about this.

Any body else know / hear anything about this? I can't find a damn thing on Google.

Sounds stupid, but that's what the book says... if I can find it... I think I'm gonna read it again.

Also, Anyone know how to reset the Service Reminder Indicator on the Jetta? When I try doing what the book says I get some wierd codes on my clock and nothing happens.

It said to turn the key onto the on position wile holding down the trip meter button (but make sure it's on the mileage display), then turn the car off and let go and it should say "OLM" or something... but mine just gives me two 4 digit codes... one starting with a 3, like 3XXX, and another starting with a 6. I'd go find out for sure, but I finally gave up and took the damn thing to a mechanic. Then it flashes the number 4. Any Ideas?

Hope, I get my car back by tomorrow... else, I'm gonna go mad. :banghead:
