Front Differentail Fliud

I have a 1999 Silverardo 1500. I need to change the front diffy fliud i bought mobil 1 75w90 synthetic. I have heard that going to synthetic you are to change the vent or something why is that?? or is it just a line of BS.

nope, just drain and refill. nothing else to do
