1995.5 Rodeo leaf spring bushings

My 95.5 Rodeo needs rear leaf spring bushings. Just wondering if anyone herehas replaced theirs, or do I need a press to remove/install new ones. Also, the local parts houses don't carry the bushings and I haven't yet checked with the dealer, does anyone know of a source for the bushings?

After 206K it looks like mine are in need of replacement as well. I did a little checking online, but only found lift shackles with new bushings. I am going to contact a local auto spring place and see if I can get a price on just parts as well as parts and service.

Thanks for the link. I wish I'd seenit before I stopped by the dealer this afternoon! The Honda dealer wanted 4.76each, the Isuzu dealer wanted $10.99each, and they are the same dang thing- go figure! So I ordered them and they'll be here on Monday. I'll let y'all know how the installation goes...

Well I ordered the poly ones today from the website. $34.99 + $8.00 s&h. Hopefully I'll have them in time to install them over the long holiday weekend. I'll let you know how mine goes too.

Well, the leaf spring bushing replacement was a piece of cake! I've replaced several in the past on other vehicles, but this one was one of the easiest I've seen yet. Just rest the frame on stands and let the axle hang, but keep a jack under it to adjust the amount of spring flex. Remove the shackle bolts/brackets, pop out the old ones and pop in the new ones. Use lithium grease- plenty of it. Reassemble and no more rear end clumking and creaking!

I also replaced the rear shocks and pads. The shocks were a royal pain in the a$$. I don't think they've ever been replaced, and the upper cups that shield the shock rod were rusted so bad they literally crumbled in my hand. But thanks to the trusty sawsall for the corroded studs, the old shocks are now history.

Yep,that's what it sounds like. For some reason I've noticed several early Troopers and Rodeos have this problem after a little age.

It's a safety and body stability issue: the more they are worn the more your truck body can "roll" because of the slack in the bushings. A few hundredths of an inch at the frame or spring mounts can translate into inches at the top of the truck. If they are worn on both sides, the amount of 'down' lean allowed on the right side during a hard left turn is essentially doubled due to the amount 'up' lean permitted by the worn bushings on the left.
If you can't get it close to the top of your "stuff I need to fix" list, I'd at least take it easy in the curves until you can get to it.
