i have a 2001 gtp and i just replaced the pass side half shaft. well i put the new one in just fine. when i took it on the road to test it it drove good except when i slowed down i got a bad vibration like warped rotors
so i did a complete brake job on the front, new rotors and new brakes
rear got new pads no rotors. i took it out for a road test and it still vibrated when i slowed down also when i pulld in my driveway i turned sharp all the way to the left and it mad a very loud growel sound so i pulled the back into my shop and took the front wheels off to check things over and i found that the pass side half shaft that i replaced had
some play where the half shaft splines go into the trans its in all the way cause the snap ring locks in place. the drivers side didnt have any play. and im wondering if somthing else is bad or maybe its the wrong shaft?
thanks in advance,
justin

Its most likely a worn out POS reman right? take it back get a different one. I have gone through 3 or 4 once to get a good one!

check the shaft diameter of the reman against the core/old one (if the parts store still has it). Many remanufacturers polish/turn down the shaft too much causing a sloppy fit. If the shaft diameters are the same, then your problem may be a bad output shaft bushing in the transaxle.

Just a guess...the splines in your tranny (4t65e-HD) are bigger than in the 4t65e...there is a chance that you may have been given the wrong part...Ask the guy who sold you the part for the part #, then do some research online for the specifications.

hey thanks for the suggestions im going to take the shaft to the local parts store and have them check it out. i trust they will be able to tell me if it is the wrong shaft then i will take it back to where i got it.
thanks again
