Does anyone have the programming code for a 1998 Sienna XLE. Both my remotes have stopped working. Could it be a different problem? The dealer wants $100 to diagose problem.

What type of remotes do you have? The factory ones (GQ43VT7T) or the Dealer/Port installed ones (BAB237131-022) ?

This thread is my best lead so far... Tip of the cap for providing the reference to for the factory-installed remote. I happen to be looking for the programming codes for the 98 Sienna, but for the Dealer/Port remote (BAB237131-022). Any advice?

I tried clicking that pdf link but it doesn't connect. Any others you know of? I'm trying to program a factory remote for my 98 sienna.
Thanks

1. Locate the ECU commonly located below the driver's seat. It's a grey box about 4" by 4" by 1.5". It has a little green button on the side which is the reset button.

2. Turn key to 'ON' position.

3. Press green reset button on ECU for 3 seconds.

4. Within 5 seconds after releasing reset button on ECU, press and release the button on your remote you want programmed. System should 'chirp' if programmed correctly.

5. Turn key to 'LOCK' position and programming is finished.

To disable the passive arming (so it doesn't set alarm automatically):

1. Turn key to 'ON'.

2. Press and hold both remote buttons for 2+ seconds.

3. Press and release the top remote button twice.

4. Turn key to 'LOCK'.
