Anybody done this? Special tools? Level of difficulty? Worth the money to do it myself?
Thanks,
Brian

... Worth the money to do it myself?...
ppl do it... replace the whole axle, all boots & gearbox o-rings. Buy o-rings from stealership to get the right ones on first try, other parts from anywhere el$e. Getting the proper aftermarket axle seems to be pain in some cases, at least be prepared.
Straightforward work, opening pass side mid bearing housing is possibly pita. Smbdy says it can be hammered out after driver axle is out, via tranny using long a steel rod.
Worth the money? Only if u like working on cars.
I suppose www.autozone.com chihihilton's has good explanation, free login. See this http://www.cardomain.com/ride/749143/8
