I would like to add a remote start to my 04 Suburban. does anyone know of any websites for the install? I really do not want an entire alarm system and would like to use the existing remotes. I am electrically inclined and do not want to pay the $300 for an adio shop to do it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I got a remote start on my 95 and love it. There are now much better systems than what I got 10 years ago. Mine does the remote start, locks/unlocks the doors and pops the rear window. As part of the remote start, it first locks the doors, then starts the engine and runs the ac system in the mode set before you left the truck, and turns the park lights on, looks like someone is waiting in the truck for you (discourages muggers). Newer systems have much better range, and talk back to the remote control to tell you the engine has successfully started, the doors have locked, so you don't have to be in sight of the truck to know it started, it locked.

Lots of electrical connections to get all this crap to work; lights, ac, starter, tach, oil press, door locks, rear window solenoid. You really want to diy?? My install was rather crude, I had to do some cleanup, but it was way too sophisticated for this cowboy.

Yeah, I would deffinately like to do it myself. I do not have a problem wiring stuff, but I need diagrams or instructions as to what to do or look for.

Do you know of an add on kit that allows the use of stock remotes for an 04?
