1995 celica gt

my brother-in-law bought a 1995 celica gt(5-speed) he drove it for maybe 6k mile and wants more power. he sold his 300+ d16z6 del sol that i built the motor for to get this celica. he is use to a 2000lb. car with 300hp and went to a heavier car with less hp now he wants a lot more uumph. we were talkin about a swap and i've read about mr2s with supercharged camry swaps so i told him about that.
i'm used to hondas and am lost with toyota engines. what is the best swap or the best way to put out atleast 300+hp?
if the camry engine fits in a mr2 shouldn't it fit in a celica? should i just stick with a mr2 turbo engine swap. also what kind of cash is he lookin at spending to build it up? as you can see i'm lost with these motors. any help would be great to reach his goal

2nd gen-200(225 for jdm version)
3rd gen-260

theese engines could easily get 300hp with minor mods and a little more boost. they are known to run 20psi on stock internals and 500hp on the stock internals. the engine will bolt to a gt tranny, but you will need a wiring harness and ecu. expect to spend about 2000$ to 2500$ if u do the work urself. the engine and wiring can be bought off the net for around 1200-1500, while a full clip(what you reqally need) will be about 1800-2000.
