OKay when my rear blitz bumper cover was installed, they removed the actual bumper...

my question...

What happens if someone rear ends me? Could they smash through and even hit my fuel tank making the car blow up lol?

isnt the eclipse bumper all plastic anyway? Doesnt seem like it would matter.

Well I think they took off the rear "bumper cover" and the the actual "bumper support/rail"

But If they took off that regtangular prism from the back mad out of steel, then I would advise going back to stock, or atleast modifiying the blitz bumper so it fits and supports the bumper (metal piece)!!

Is there a real name for it??

I am not exactly sure, it actually is a large rectangular piece of hard plastic material...

I would like to know how much damage could happen if a car rear ended me at, say 40 mph...

wouldnt that just smash right through the backseat of my car with no bumper...

I dont think I have a metal bumper its just hard plastic and I dont know the name.

Yes, that is dangerous. The hard plastic piece is the actual protection, the exterior is just the cover. Removing the hard plastic piece will compromise safety, though I'm not sure how close the fuel tank is to the rear cover.

Yea, I left my support on the front too. I think it even looks kinda better too, cept for the side vents (the ones on the sides of the middle one) but I still gotta get some god damned grill, i dont know how to put it on lol

yah putting it on is simple u just take a larger piece of mesh and put it behind a whole then drill in a small screw or tack into the bumper, people dont notice and it stays on... I think i will just have the stock rear bumper cover painted black and installed along with the bumper its self...

i cant risk getting rear ended and having my fuel tank explode now can I!

i think i removed both of the "fiberglass reinforcements" when I put my bodykit back on. as long as you don't remove the steel that's basically welded to the car you should be alright. if someone rearended you at 40, i'd be worried about alot more than just your car getting smashed from the back. and no, your car isn't going to "blow up" and make a mushroom clould of smoke like on the movies. lol
