Hasegawa have finally got the 'blurb' up on their website about their new Subaru Impreza WRC '05 kit:
http://hasegawa-model.co.jp/e-w/TOPICNEW/CR35.html
Problem is, I don't find this very encouraging:
less parts for easy assembly
What's happening to the great model companies, do they really think we want less parts and easier assembly?
By the time they're done, between the diecast chassis and the above, what will there be left for us? :banghead:

Yeah, the less parts thing is kinda disturbing. But mabye they are getting rid of the parts you won't see, like all of the stuff under the skid plates. I hope not, but if that's the case...I will still get one...mabye two.

Yup: They have to broaden their potential market any way they can. It's so expensive to get the molds made and licensed, you have to maximize the income from them. They chould super-detail them out of the box, but they would cost hundreds of dollars and wouldn't sell very many.

I agree when i go to buy a new model trying to find one that either has more than 10 snap together bits or that isn't already cromed or coloured is near impossible. Guess it's time for that lathe to start making more parts for them.

when I start my hobby Hasegawa had a better reputation than tamiya, the first one to use cad/cam tech to made molds, I have a stockpile with dozen on great airplane, fantastic items with negative panel lines an rivets, at the same time Tamy done his jets with positive panel lines ecc. I have a lot of old Hase car kit (porsche 944, ferrri's collection, jaguar XJs...) with a ton of particular and PE stuff. What's happened? For long time i'm not be able to find out an Hase site! And the current one isn't for sure the best/useful I saw. And more, ok do semi-die-cast model may be a trend just now, but why the same subject as Tamy? We need more subject, we like more parts: Today the tech. help, why not? I think isn't really a cost problem, anyone of those big company could do molds inside, I think is a problem concerning target, simply they study the market and discover that a big percentage of people want a 2dozen of parts kit: just a little of glue... and in a saturday afternoon some can have 1 model done:iceslolan

The dumbing down of our hobby (and the world in general) continues unabated. :(
But we shouldn’t complain… :cwm27:
