bent valves???

i just bought my neice a 90 storm gsi for 200. and the guy told me the timing belt broke that much i can tell what i need to know is if the dohc gsi motor is an interferience motor. i know i can pull the head and tell that way if the valves are bent but im hoping somebody can help cause it would suck if i pulled it down and valves were good :rofl:

Well, I can't answer for sure, but I have heard that it is not. Also, when my tensioner came loose and my belt popped off, the valves on mine apparently were not damaged, FWIW. I have the same year and motor.
