Tachometer bouncing, Honda, Accord, 1997

I have a Honda Accord, 1997, V6. Just one month ago while I was driving on the highway at a speed of 60-70mph, I noticed that the tachometer was bouncing between 0-2.5 krpm. Sometimes, it even stopped at 0 for while, and then jump to 2 suddenly. But my engine was running normally, no jerk, no slip at all.

Later, I also watched that this only happenned after I drove on the way 10 minutes later. If the engine is cool, the tachometer will not jump at all.

I asked around, somebody told me it might be the problem of distributor, or ICM, or spark plug, or thermstat, or even the tachometer itself. I checked the website and searched for the key words "tacho, bouncing, honda". Some mentioned that it might be the problem of the ignition coil, which is a component that converts the pulse rate signal into the propotional voltage signal and sends it to the tachometer. I think that's it!

I ordered an ignition coil ($80) from "hondaautomotiveparts.com" and replaced the old one. The problem is fixed. The tachometer never bounce again.
