Adjusting headlights on 2001.5 Passat

1st post...so here we go...

I just recently purchased a 2001.5 VW Passat through a private deal. The headlights are very low. Actually if I leave my high beams on, cars coming towards me don't even "grill" me as I think they are probably at the level my low beams should be at.

The question I have is does anyone know how to adjust the headlights? Or is this something I should be bringing to a VW garage? I've owned plently of Chevy's, Fords, Dodges were it was pretty simple to adjust but this is my first VW...which by the way I love!

Please help or maybe direct me to another place that can.

Thanks!
Jim

u sure your low beam bulbs arent burnt out. they do burn out alot on passats.

adjusting headlights is done by a 5-6mm allen wrench. there are arrows pointing to the adjusting points.

Thanks for the response veedub. I'm going to check tonight if the low beam bulbs arent burnt out. Are the arrows on top of the headlight housing?

Have you noticed the 2 adjustment tumblers below the steering column? - 1 is for the instrument brightness and the other is to adjust the headlight beams - if memory serves me the one on the right is the one to use to adjust.
