Where did you hear that they were stopping production? Did a dealer tell you that?
I am not an expert, as I do not work for Nissan, but, I beleive they are stopping production on the 2002 Spec V's. They need to retool the production line and prep for 2003. That means that after another month or so, there probably won't be any new spec's hitting dealer's lots, until August or September, when the 03's come in.
If a dealer told you that, he probably has been told that he can't get anymore 02's. Check around... depending on where you live, there are still some on the lots. I know there are two red ones at my local dealer.
If for some reason they are stopping production on the spec's what do you all think would result.
Would the value of our car go up, because they are limited? Would available mods be limited due to lack of demand (If there are only a small number of owners)? Would the cost for parts go up if they were no longer in production?
Just curious...

I had mine 32 days and got ran off the road by a tractor trailer, spun out of control and wrapt it around a pine tree sideways. The side impact airbags saved my wife's life. My neck was a little sore and she was pretty banged up. Minor stuff, bruises and scrapes. Nothing broken, nothing really injered. This was april 3rd. Well, two weeks later, I'm back in the same exact model. Same options, same every thing. The only differance is I paid $800 less the second time.
Did they really stop making the Spec V? This is the first time I'd heard anything about it.

To all Spec V owners: I will buy your totalled Spec V's. If they are totalled by the insurance company, let me know, you have the right o buy them back for a fraction fo the cost that they totalled it out at. They cannot by law charge you more than a percentage of what they paid you for hte car. Parts are hard to find, I would recommend not selling it to me, but keeping it for yourself to part out as that is all that I am going to do with it. As far as performance parts go, there are plaenty of them out there, they are just going to go up in price if the Spec V's are not made anymore.

i was recently talking to a nissan dealer and he told me nothing about the stopping of production of the spec-v, he told me they are just going to scale back the amounts being produced to get ready for next years models.
