Would you do it?

Ok so sadly enough, I've had my hatch for like 3 months and im tired of it. acutally I'm tired of 4th gens. Its not that i don't like them anymore, its just that I've owned 3 civics and 2 crx's pretty much in a row, and I just want to get into something else for awhile, im sure ill come back someday.

Anyway, here is something I stumbled upon on ef-honda, and I hit the dude up with an offer and he was already talking about meeting up, but i want to wait to think about it still, and im still waiting for the title to come from the dmv or wherever it comes from.

Its a 94 del sol S, and its got a z6 swap. 96-98 front end conversion, looks ok except for the fenders i think, kyb struts, and skunk2 coilovers (they suck i have them now), id probably go back to stock look after awhile. Seems to be in good shape, has pretty much the same mods as me minus exhaust. ill probably keep my strut bars and amp and sub.

I like your Si cuz it's clean. That Del Sol looks like a headache. I'm sorry but for somebody who loves stock looking cars it just doesn't seem like something you would do. If you got the Del Slow and painted it right away then that's different. But do you really want somebody elses headache? Maybe you can find a stock Del Sol instead and then you can do your own modifications. This is all just my .02 though.

i dont really see it being a headache, dude says it runs fine. interior looks fine. no rust, just needs paint. i can do my own paint, real paint not rattle can, for real cheap, pretty much just the cost of materials, i have a buddy that does body work. i dont really mind the front end so far, ive requested more pics of it. i figure its worth more than my car as well after I paint it. and it has a z6 in it, so why not?

first off, i'm gonna piss a del sol owner off...i can just feel it. oh well....

if you are truly into the 4th gen then you won't end up happy in this car. however, i do know how it feels to be bored. i solve my boredom with project cars that aren't 4th gen. i know if i sell my car i will only miss it and end up with another so why bother selling it to start, that is just my personal opinion.

most people complain the del sol is only 2 seater, you've had crxs' so i won't bother. the del sol is heavier than the crx, i'm sure you know that.

Runs awesome with no problems. Vtec is not hooked up

ummm, if it's all hooked up correctly vtec should be a factor in the equation. i am weary of half-assed swaps.

i dunno know man, if i was looking to trade a hatch i'm not sure i would trade for that specific del sol. maybe there is another del sol out there that would catch my eye. this specific del sol does give me the vibe of being a headache as turtlecrxsi was saying.

ultimately you are going to do what you are gong to do. and different people do different things for different reasons. you need to soul search to find the true answer of if this is a good deal.

yeah im thinking the same now. also since i heard that even the del sol S is wired for vtec from factory, so i would think it should be hooked up. i think im going to pass on this specific del sol, but i definetly want one now. unless i come across a DA....

I Sols in general... If they are done right, they can look sweet! But they are just too heavy... Sorry, but its true... They are heavier than the 92-95 Civic coupe, hell even the 4 door sedan is lighter, but with the Coupe/Sedan u get a back seat... I personally would rather have a hatch tho... The one thing good about the Sol is not many people do hook them up...

I was looking for a sol too. I was actually looking for a daily driver sol though. Have to much money in the hatchy.

if i was in ur shoes dude id prolly do it, if u got access to paintbooths and materials at cost why not. as for the vtec not being hooked up.. well thats just like alot of us at one time who swapped vtec motors into non vtec cars.. might just need a controller.. the model S is just base model with the y7.. and well u got a z6 in there with supposively under 100k thats great if its true. the front looks really nice.. and those might be JDM headlights? well the roof could leak too if it rains hard enough which sucks.. but that can be fixed. and u seem to like factory rims painted black :icon16: ask the guy more questions get alot more detail on the car and let us know. and the headache part.. well its a honda with a d series how much of a headache could it possibly be?? :grinno:

I don't really like Sols, but I would trade my car for a newer one so I guess its up to you.

I'm getting tired of my hatch right now a lot and am thinking I might try and sell it in the summer. If I can get 3Gs for it I can spend a little more and get a stock EK hatch and start working it.

EFs have too much rattling and aging for me to want to keep driving them. :(

I would say keep her untill you can snag a nice running DA GSR. they make cool lil DDs.

Don't get another car like it or somthing not badass or you'll just wind up missing your 4th gen. I havn't driven mine in a while and now don't really plan on it unless its snowing.

Give into the dark side, get the ls1 be the ls1. I'll have to bring her down sometime This car is just all you can ask for in a DD.

if i could afford an ls1 id get a sick 5.0 lol. why not just trade me cars max?
