motor on 85 sunbird

hi all here is my problem and hope i can find some help here i have an '85 sunbird convertible with a 1.8L it has a cracked head and a crack in the cylinder wall cant seem to find a good motor to replace it so my question is what motors will interchange with it or can the cylinders be resleeved for a reasonable cost?

The 1.8 is the "Brazilian" Pontiac. There's a 2.0 with the same configuration, of about the same era.
We charge $100 labor to install a sleeve. The sleeve costs about $30. Of course, the engine must be rebuilt, as the other parts must all be removed, and you shouldn't use rings and bearings over unless they have 0 miles to speak of.
If you have the iron head version, repairing the head is difficult and expensive. If it has the aluminum version, repaitr of the head is more reasonable (aluminum is MUCH easier to weld).
Find a high-quality machine shop in your area, and ask them about specifics. Installing sleeves is not a job for a fly-by-night shop. ASE "Master" certificate showing is a good sign... (pun intended)
