4x4 Switch does nothing?

Hello Everyone,
I have 99 Denali, the one with 4 hi, 4 low, auto 4x4 and 2 hi on the switch located behind the shifter beside the steering colum. Anyways none of the settings have the orange light showing and I don't think the 4x4 is enaging when I push any buttons. I replaced the whole sending unit switch and I still have the same problem.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
