how hard would it be to take an automatic transmissioned 82' toyota pickup and put a manual transmission in it

I didn't know they had autos in '82.
You'd have to swap the tranny and t-case, and may have to reposition the x-member and adjust the DS lengths.

I didn't know they had autos then either. Never did an '82, but on an '87 the bracket is already there for the pedal and the crossmember is the same, and the driveshafts are withing an inch in length which means that the slip yoke will take it up. That said, you need transmission, t-case, master cylinder, slavecylinder, fluid line and a holesaw to cut the hole in the firewall. You also have to connect two wires that go to the trans control mod to fool it into thinking the auto is in park so the truck will start. Must also cut hole in floor bigger.
