Idler Arms

Hi all,
My aunt has a 95 Safari and it just got new tires. They said they couldn't do an alignment because it needs new idler arms. They wanted about 500 bucks for labor. I'm just wondering how difficult this job is to do, I've swapped engines, transmissions, etc... So I guess I'm just wondering how much of a PITA this is to do? Any input?
I'm thinking MOOG parts from RockAuto.com...
Thanks

Moog parts are definitely the way to go. If you've done all that other work, this should be quite simple for you.

Check the Idler arms yourself before spending money & time to replace them. You're allowed a whopping 1/4" of play in these arms before they need replacement.
Repair shops like to show you the arms play when vehicule is raised as
It looks a lot worst in that position than it really is.
Good luck

Thanks for your replies fellas,
AstroFan, are you saying that I should check the play in them with the full load of the van on them?
I'll definitley check to make sure they're bad, but most likely they are with the van having about 198k miles on it. :eek7:
About the MOOG parts, they are about twice as much as Autozone's Duralast. It's worth it though, right? What's the difference?
Thanks again...

Moog are the best. Get the type that have a T suffix in the part number as well. They are their "TroubleSaver" part. They are better than just about anything.

Would these right here fit in the "Trouble Saver" catergory.

I've got a 5% discount from there, is that about the best deal I can expect on those?
Thanks

MOOG Part # K6365T
MOOG Part # K6366T
Note where they say "Enhanced design"? Those are the ones you want.
