i agree, the swap is kinda tricky unless your familiar with the project, i think youd be better off selling the one you have, and buying one thats already a manual.
to convert to a manual you would need to buy the brake and clutch pedal assebly, mark the mounting location so you could mount in the same place in your car, buy the brake booster and slave cylender for the setup, all the hoses linkages and related components, as well as setup and adjust all the components on your car once you installed them. the devil is in the details isnt that what they say. youd also need the transmission support crossmember for the manual trans. its very doable, but its a major headache once you get into the detail work. so like i said, id just get the manual equipped car to start with.

to convert it from the auto to manual, wouldnt you have to cut away at the frame where the shifter goes?? or am would they fit in there

I will try to find you some links, hit me up on AIM to remind me... although most people I know recently who have converted went from manual to auto for drag racing and durability.

ya you will need to do all what 89 said and yes you do have to cut at your frame....you can always just get a manual valve body on your auto and shift that...although there will be no clutch...i shift my auto all the time just for fun...i know its not the same as a manual but it keeps you semi entertained.....
damn 89 long time no see....hows it going

dunno bout cutting the frame, but you will have to cut the sheetmetal over the transmission.
and life is decent, school, work, still scrapping the RS and workin on the IROC.

Yeah, I shift my auto too, but I usually only downshift to ease off the brakes.
Also, Erik, I think thats what they were talking about.
