Just wondering which of these has the faster 0-60 and quartermile times. Assuming theyre both stock. Anybody have any idea?

Assuming equal drivers and tires I would think the lude would have a better time...but not much better

The lude would win if conditions/drivers were all the same.

The civic has the single overhead cam vtec correct ?but it is alsoa bit lighter but ya the lude in my mind would win. Well if i was driving anyway

h22 preludes smoke the shit out of 99-00 Si's. The only way the lude would lose is if he didn't know how to drive at all.

Hes saying 0-60 and 1/4 mile times so they both are still in the 15s range

This should be common sense here.

The lude would shit all over the civic. End of story.

that'd be a hard choice......Prelude SH or a blue Civic Si (EM1 of course :p)

I guess this'd all depend on what you're going to do to the car and which one you like better.....don't base your decision on which is faster from the factory....

my opinion is go with the lude because not only does it have a few extra horses out of the factory(30-35) most mods will give you considerable hp gains. If forced induction is in mind though, the B16 has better compression for turbo. :naughty:

honestly if i was in this same situation idk what i'd pick....i always have loved Preludes and i love the blue EM1's too......its a win/win situation so you can't complain. They'll both be good cars, and they both have their good and bad points.

The Prelude is going to be a nice NA car and it will be fast w/o spending a lot of money, but the EM1 is going to be a better car if you decide to boost.....

They're both sexy cars and i'd trade my bugeyed GSR for either of them....:p

I have never lost to a naturally aspirated B16A Civic. No matter what platform (EF/EK/Del Sol), and no matter what B16A (USDM,JDM,Type R). Ever..

Which leads me to believe.. K20>H22>B18>B16A

Lets not go into engine sizes. Yes that is a large factor, but the b16 still has a good bit of power. Not to mention Ludes are no where near the light side of Hondas.

I own a 90 CRX w/ a b16 and all the bolt-ons, and I also own a mostly stock 96 VTEC lude. Yes there is a big weight difference but the torque of the h22 makes up for it, and the Lude handles almost as well as the CRX (both have built suspensions). I can't "throw" the lude into corners the way I can with the CRX, but the lude is more solid thru the turn than the CRX.

The CRX is quicker, but that's because it's built more than the lude. If I were to add a few more bolt-ons to the lude (I/H/E) the lude would be as quick or quicker than the CRX.

I Think that the lude for sure win, not only does it have more torgue, but here.. there isnt one civic i havent wasted, but they have kept up no doubt about it, i still respect the power in every way,but i'd go for the lude just because................
