98 Intigue headlights

I recently had the right headlamp assembly replaced to the tune of $385. Tech told me it had to be replaced because the printed circuit board in it that controls all of the lamps went. I am getting the same symptoms on the drivers side now and wanted to buy a headlamp assembly online. 2 Questions,,1) is the printed board included if I buy an assembly online?? 2 How hard is it to install?? Apreciate any info...

I think you got robbed. But I don't have my alldatadiy.com account anymore to check for the correct info.

I probably did get ripped,,but another question I have a problem where the rear directional blinks like mad, the side marker light in front goes on, but the front directional does not work. That was the condition where they told me the printed circuit boar had gone bad.

Also if I buy an assembly does it include the circuit board I need??

I changed BOTH headlight assemblies, and didn't see one. What did I miss?

Oh, and swapping them out was a peice of cake. About 5 min each.

I don't think there is a printed circuit board. RockAuto.com only shows the headlight switch/dimmer at $110 and a socket relay for the lights <15$.

The rear is probably blinking faster cuz the front bulb is not working, I'll bet ya anything you just need to buy a new bulb socket and bulb for the front - the plastic sockets will start to melt - that happened to my daughter's Intrigue. No more than $30 from the dealer - maybe cheaper elsewhere.

Thats because there isnt one, Im sure theres a circuit board that controls them somewhere, but I know that its not located on the headlamp itself, the headlamp assembly is just that, an assembly with headlamps in it, no circuits, just the wiring to the lights and stuff.


And yeah the headlight removal on the Intrigue is the best ive ever seen, just those two clips, undo the wiring harness and BAM headlight is out! props to GM on that one for sure.

Yeah, there's no board in the headlamps. As others are saying, it is most likely your front Daytime Running Lamp that burned out. It blinks as part of the turn signal, so it would cause a double rate blink. You may want to check the side turn signal up front (behind the cornering lamp), as it may be at fault also.

I want to add a dumb question. Someone said the headlamp assembly is easy to get out. I fully agree. It's wonderful to get out, but I haven't figured out how to put the clips back on. (I feel retarded, cause it has to be simple) Anyway, I lost to of the clamps, as they weren't on securely and dissapeared while driving. Now, I have to clips on there, but they are held on by zip ties. At the other two spots, there are only zip ties. Can anyone tell me where to get two new clips (napa, autozone?? not the dealer - too much $$$$) and how do I put them on properly?

On a related note, if I buy an HID conversion kit, will the auto light features still work and all that?

Yeah, everything will work the same, as all you are doing is adding a ballast before the bulb itself (a new one).
