My aurora has got a few problems. as soon as i hit 95000mi. It was a great car(minus radiator due to bad air flow), if you stay idle for more than 5-10 min there is a horrible exhaust or burnt plastic(excess exhaust), the brakes, front and rear sus., light tapping(not knocking)upon accel., possibly heater core, IF THAT GOES I WILL DRIVE THAT OLDS OFF A CLIFF!!!,

Sounds like typical wear and tear problems fo a car with 95K. if you like the car and if that's all you think that is wrong with it, have a reliable car mechanic fix it.

Yes, when cars reach this mileage they need additional work. The problems you describe and not particularly severe.
Cars don't last forever; sure it needs a bit of money now, but whats the alternative - buy a new(er) car and lose even more money through depreciation??

Have you changed the oxygen sensor?
An over rich mixture will overheat the converter, causing that smell.

Finally, those Auroras are one of the few 'classic' domestic sedansin the 90's - stylish and relatively unique - and worth keeping.

I am going to keep fixing my Aurora until it starts to look bad, right now it looks new. I have 70,000 now and can't describe how much I like driving this car, the look, the drive the ride. Except for cornering and its near perfect.

I told the wife the other day I wish it was new. There are few cars that can continue to stir the soul 3 years after you buy them.

I don't mean to burst anyones bubble, but if you think 95k is significant mileage you have been brainwashed by oil companies and American automakers. 310k mi on my '84 Celica(driven 150mi a day, 4 days a week minimum)and just had to put in a timing chain kit. Every few years the alternator goes but that is IT!
