Ferrari F189

Pretty simple and basic tamiya kit built right outta the box back in the early 90's. . .

Oh, I did paint it with Ferrari factory paint that I had picked up at an old Ferrari dealership in Framingham, MA . . .

Also, YUP, the mirrors are not installed as I took them off when I packed her up during a move. . .

I've been hanging out to build one of these actually... but I've got another 8-9 F1 kits staring at me from the cupboard, so I can't bring myself to buy another.

Unfortunately, due to the horrible fitting of the cowl in the kit and the rather thick paint job, I found I had to glue this part shut hiding the work I had already completed on the engine . . . :disappoin

Also, the DZUS fasteners are done here in Bare Metal Foil and should have opted to shave the kit details off and use photoetched parts here but, I jumped the gun and had the painting done before I realized this . . .

Very impressive model of Barnard's old duckbill, especially nice considering it's age.

I'm actually located up in New Hampshire on the seacoast . . .

Sorry to say, my model show days now are over for the most part! lol Use to love goin' to all the shows around here but, was finding it harder and harder to just to even "model" let alone hit the road for the shows/contest. . .

I belonged to Southern Maine Scale Modelers/IPMS for quite sometime and was even the editor for their newsletter for about a year.

Not boasting by any means but, thought I'd mention this model took a few awards over the years. . . :shakehead

Eventually I moved on to modeling only 1/43rd scale and like so many on here, my collection of models just got WAY outta hand . . lol so, I sold off most of the bigger items and concentrated my efforts on the teeny-weeny stuff . . .lol
