I have few dumb questions and I tried to look up in every forum but I can;t get a straight answer...1st) if you get a greddy type-s bov you no longer need a mbc???...2nd) Pipes are pipes, but if you decied to custom make your intercooler piping and/or replace your intake with regular steel or aluminiun pipes these will over heat due to the heat from the engine, but if you purchase for instance dejon or any other brand these pipes will come with some kind of insulation which wont let them get too hot....is this just an "urban legend" or is another multinational conspiration of big name companies to get college ass broken students to buy their products?...3rd)...if you decied to install a puel pump rewire kit, do you have a high risk to screw/fry/blow your fuel pump because of the higher voltage?......and finally but not dumber.... right now with my current mods (greddy type-s bov, boost gauge, fipk k&n, act 2100 and all the free mods you can think of)... im running 10 psi...how safe is this?

1) with any bov I believe you need some kind of boost controller(stock, manual, electronic)
2)I have 3inch intake and 2.5in uicp.. intake came off e bay..no insulation... and uicp is straight line specialties pipe..and no insulation..for this you could just use exhaust wrapp if you are worried.
3) You wont have a high risk of screwing anything up as long you get directions and buy the right parts to use. Be careful, read up on it, and you should be fine.
4)I think you should be running at least 14/15psi. I mean your turbo it stock right?2g come with about that much psi so why run lower? I think keeping it at stock psi or stock turbo is fine(very safe) with your current mods.

You can run safely about 16-17psi on your stock turbo.

thanks for your reply...
1)The reason I asked this to start with is bc with the type-s bov you can play with the screw on top (soft/hard)...and that would regulate boost...is this just fine or I should go ahead and use my joep mbc???...and if so should I close (all the way to soft) the screw on top of my bov???
2)exhaust wrapps I heard is a bicth to fit in......what do mean by "uicp is straight line specialties pipe" ??? ...is it bad if these pipes get hot???that means that the air flowing inside is gonna be hotter...the stock intercooler is not all that great :icon16:
3)so....stock fuel pump and rewire kit are just fine.....maybe I'll wait and get a 190 or 255 fp and then use the rewire kit.
4)my turbo is the stock t25...I think somewhere in here I read that for 1psi more than stock is equal to10 extra ponies???....again is this another of those legends???

Arg... playing with the adjustment screw does not regulate boost. Only a boost controller, and the wastegate control boost! The adjustment screw only messes with the spring pressure in the bov, meaning how fast or how slow you want the valve to respond when you let off the gas.

Well he answered number 1..
2)straightline specialties is a vedor for dsm parts . Theres a link on dsmtuners.com all the time at the top left of the home page. I got my UICP(upper inter cooler pipe) from them. Exhaust wrap isnt hard...you wrap the thing. You dont even need it though. Everything under the engine gets hot. Even the rubber hoses. Its okay, its going to happen. You can turn on your a/c once in while if you are that worried and this way your fan runs and cools the engine bay. Or rewire your fan so u can switch it on and off. Like I said there is no need. Pipes are a positive thing for your car.
3) Either way..if you wait, you can still do it before you get a pump. Go with the 190 unless your going be running over 300 hp or so. My opinion.
4) the 10 hp thing...Thats what they say, but it is a total guess because different cars have different engines, intercooler, turbo's, mods, tunning devices, etc. You can run 16/17 psi if you want b/c stock comes 14/15. I wouldnt let it spike over 17. Try and set it at 16 using your mbc.

how fast or how slow will do anything to performance???..I set my boost gauge to 10 psi using this....is this totally inacurate then...
