Anyway to disable the Check Engine light?

Have a '97 explorer and know that there is no problem, don't want to have to pay for nothing.

If the check engine light is on, there is a problem in the emission system. Disabling the light is against Federal Law.

As way2old said, the check engine light is thee for a reason. Check the code to see what's causing the light to go on. When that is repaired, the light should automatically go off.
