I'm building the Revell 1/12 1969 Camaro Z/28. I would like to purchase the MCG photo etch kit (http://www.modelcargarage.com/mcg_display_item.cfm?m=2180) but $25 plus shipping! Is this kit really worth it? I know some of you have/are working with it. Anyone know how much shipping is from MCG? Any comments on this kit are very appreciated!

TBH I can't comment on this particular set and I guess your final evaluation will have to take into account what alternative options you might have.

I can say though, that I have an MCG P/E fret for the 1/24 Mini Cooper and IMHO it was over priced and the quality of etching was significantly inferior (not "bad" just worse) to other P/E kits that I have from other mfctrs.

Also, they get a thumbs down form me for customer service. One of the "Cooper S" scripts was damaged whern it reached me and there was no response to my request for a replacement (I even offered to return the damaged one).

I suggest that you havew a good look around for alternatiives B4 you make a final choice.

I found MCG's shipping to be $4.50 for this PE kit. Are there any other co's that make PE kits for the 1/12 Camaro?...I've searched and found none.

I've got quite a few detail sets made by MCG, and all I can say is they are brilliant, perfectly etched and the photo-reduced gauges are fantastic, if you scan them into your pc you can actually see the mileage on the speedo, and that's in 1/24th scale, but that's just my opinion.
