96 burban drl question?

My 96 burban - the drl indicator light is on, the drl fuse is good ( I replaced it with a new one even though it appeared good) but the lights are not on. The headlights work fine but no DRL's. I pulled the relay and the normally closed contacts read closed with a meter, but I don't know if that really means anything....help?????

There is a good chance it is a problem with the DRL diode, looks like a heat sink and its located about directly behind the cigarette lighter

Mine has the same problem. I have already checked my diode, seems to work fine (has voltage reading), I still don't know what else to check. hope someone has some more input...
Unlees I can bypass it or wire direct.
